Description
John Shopteese is deceased. He passed away about 10 years ago... circa 2010
This is one of his last pieces. It is a silver bracelet with Gem Turquoise, Coral, Mother of Pearl, Lapis and Rhodochrosite which all rise well above the silver channel they reside in.
Although his work won numerous awards, John was not well known in the United States. He showed his work mostly in Europe. Once a year I would meet in Santa Fe. He died soon after our last meeting.
The featured stone here in this braceletis a Landers Blue Turquoise or a Very Close Nevada Cousin. Frankly, regardless of exactly where it was mined it is a good size, rare and stunning turquoise gemstone.
It is a hard stone with brilliant flashes of bright Sky Blue set in a Cobalt Blue Night Sky.
The Bracelet measures 7/8" wide
It is for a wrist that measures 6 3/4" to 7 1/4" in circumference.
The bracelet can Not be adjusted without first removing all the gemstones.
