Description
Vintage Silver and Rare Turquoise Bracelet Handmade by Al Joe, Navajo, Fine Silversmith
Made using vintage methods but a one of a kind, contemporary design, using pure / 100% silver.
Eagle in a Blue Sky
This is Gem Easter Blue Turquoise
There was never much Easter Blue and what there was quickly bought.
This gem is from that original find when the mine was first opened.
The stone is beautiful and Al Joe's pure silver setting suits it perfectly.
Pure silver looks very much like Platinum. Silver is softer than Platinum.
The Easter Blue Mine is / was located northwest of Tonopah, Nevada. It was discovered in 1907. The turquoise is somewhat similar to that of Pilot Mountain and Royston.
The Easter Blue Mine is long closed.
This particular gem is very hard with lots of Zat (brilliance). The green / blue color comes from deep within the stone.
It will fit a 6 1/2" wrist and can be easily be adjusted.
It's about 1 1/4" wide at the center.
Also seen in the photo is a James Little Necklace.
