Delvin Leekya Zuni White Marble Wolf Fetish Carving

Delvin is the son of Francis Leekya who was the son of Leekya Deyuse. Leekya was among the men, Indigenous and Anglo, who changed Southwest Jewelry from Old Spanish to Modern Representations of the Indigenous People who have livid here since before history.

Delvin Leekya grew up among the best lapidary and metalsmiths in the Southwest. And of course, worked with many of them.

I consider Delvin among the top Zuni Carvers. His art is heartfelt and quite accomplished. No Zuni collection is complete without a Delvin carving. There art not many examples of Delvin's art performed at this level and this large size.

Francis and Delvin were very close.

The carving is about 5 1/2" long and will more than fill your hand if you wrap your hand around it.
