Delvin Leekya, Zuni Rock Mountain Lion with High Grade Gem Offering Bundle

It is made from Zuni Rock (the personal rock of the Leekya family).
Here is a Walking Mountain Lion Carving with an Extremely Fine, High Grade Gemstone Offering Bundle. 

It was made Circa 2010.

This Carving is new and was kept in a vault these many years.

Francis Leekya, was alive at the time and Delvin would help him with the fine detail work that required two hands. 

Francis suffered a stroke. He was wheelchair bound and could work using only one arm and hand.  

The Arrowhead / Leekya Leaf is made of Abalone Shell from the California Coast in the 1950's. A real estate developer / Indian trader from the Coast,  occasionally made the trip to Zuni to trade a Station Wagon full of Abalone Shells. The Leeky's of course were there and this is a small piece of that Abalone Shell.

The small Turquoise Nuggets appear to be Kingman (which is in Arizona on the Nevada Border). The nuggets match. They are small but have super fine color and  fine quality.

This carving is a rarity, to say the least and is among my personal favorites.

Delvin helped Francis with fine details. The long sweeping tail for example... the perfectly set turquoise eyes too. 

This is a large Cat / Mountain Lion and will more then fill your hand...  but not heavy. 

However because if its 6" length " x 2" tall size, some people may require two hands to safely move it. 

The Zuni Mountain Lion protects the traveler. 
It is protects us from harm from the North. 
Mountain Lion color in a Directional Set is usually Gold Brown... a Cougar. The color here is correct.

I find this carving unique and original... wonderful in every way.

It is the first and only Zuni Mountain Lion sculpted with this pose.
