Delvin Leekya is the son of Francis Leekya and the grandson of Leekya Deyuse. Delvin was born to carve, it is in his blood. Frankly, Delvin Leekya is among the very best stone carver of the modern era... any era for that matter.
Delvin ways always one of my first stops in Zuni (for many many years). Over that time, we always bought his beautiful carvings. Sculpture is a far more accurate description for these large Zuni carvings.
This Medicine Bear is adorned with a gem, Cerrillos Turquoise Necklace . Cerrillos is one of the oldest Turquoise mines in the Southwest and is long closed. The Leekya Arrowhead is hand carved.
